On behalf of the Scientific Committee and the National Cancer Registry, I would like to invite you to attend the Fourth All-Ireland Cancer Conference, which will be held in December in the attractive setting of the Four Seasons Hotel, Dublin. This Conference, like the previous three, will offer a uniquely multi-disciplinary overview of the latest advances in cancer care, from prevention through treatment to end-of-life care, encompassing topics as diverse as communication skills and genome-wide association studies. With the collaboration of the US National Cancer Institute, we have attracted internationally renowned speakers in the areas of basic science, clinical care, cancer nursing, health services research and prevention from North America, Ireland and the UK. The programme will offer a mix of plenary, break-out and seminar sessions, and will be followed by a half-day mini-symposium hosted by the Irish Association of Cancer Research.
The generous support of the Department of Health and Children has allowed us to keep registration fees low, and we hope to attract a wide spectrum of attendance from Ireland and the US. We welcome abstracts for poster presentation from both experienced and junior researchers. A small number of posters will be selected for oral presentation in the course of the conference.
The All-Ireland Cancer Conferences have become known both for their exceptional scientific content and for a lively social and entertainment programme, and this year will be no exception. So - register, come, learn and enjoy yourself!
Harry Comber
Director, National Cancer Registry.
